On October 18th, Counsellor for Economic and Commercial affairs, Mr Wang Jianxun, attended Opening ceremony of Mbale Industrial Park’s Made-in-Uganda Trade Show and Bazaar and delivered a speech. H.E.Jessica Alupo, The Vice President of Uganda delivered a warmly speech, who was accompanied by four State Ministers: Evelyn Anite (Privatisation and Investment), David Bahati (Trade and Industry), Opolot Okaasai (Energy) and Florence Wamala Namboozo (Karamoja Affairs). About 1,000 representatives from various local sectors of China and Uganda attended the event.

Wang introduced the important outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation 2024 and appreciated the efforts made by the Ugandan Government in improving the investment climate. Wang expressed that Chinese Embassy in Uganda would continue to encourage entrepreneurs to invest in Uganda and contribute to the economic and social development of Uganda. He expected the two sides would further strengthen the cooperation in promoting the implementation of the “Ten Partnership Actions” of modernization.

The Vice President of Uganda, Jessica Alupo, has hailed the Sino-Uganda Mbale Industrial Park for its significant contribution to the realization of the country’s agenda of industrialization, import substitution, and export promotion and thanked China for its valuable support to Uganda in the fields of infrastructure construction, agricultural modernization, industrialization, etc.
