H.E. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met with the President of the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Wavel Ramkalawan, on Sunday. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 5th UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries. President Solih arrived in Doha, Qatar, to attend the conference on Saturday.

President Solih and President Ramkalawan discussed various topics at the meeting, including climate change and tourism. They discussed efforts to restore tourism to pre-pandemic levels, as well as working together in the international arena on issues of mutual interest, such as climate change, and playing a more prominent role in the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and as members of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS).

Both leaders expressed optimism about further strengthening the Seychelles-Maldives relationship and finding ways to collaborate internationally. The Maldives and Seychelles established diplomatic relations on July 1, 1980.
