Davos debrief

Season 2, Episode 36

Duration: 60m

In this episode we speak to the publisher of African Business magazine, Omar Ben Yedder, who has just come back from the 2023 edition of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland.

In its first in-person gathering for three years, the celebrated international forum, as always, provided invaluable insights and networking opportunities to those who attended.

Omar chats to us about his main reflections from WEF including the global macroeconomic forecast and current trade, demographic and industrialisation opportunities for Africa.

He also discusses the significance of the substantial economic and political resources flowing to Ukraine and of China’s signalling that it is open for business again following its “Zero-Covid policy”.

Interviews with Ncube and Mawela

In addition, we listen to Omar’s interviews at Davos with Calvo Mawela, CEO of MultiChoice SA, and Mthuli Ncube, minister for finance and economic development of Zimbabwe.
