Africa is stepping up as a key player in the global artificial intelligence (AI) landscape. The Global AI Congress Africa (GAICA 2025), to be held at Novation City, Sousse, Tunisia, will bring together over 6,000 participants, including 134 international speakers, 110 exhibitors, and more than 200 startups, to discuss the challenges of AI and showcase solutions tailored to the continent.

A landmark summit at a critical moment

Organised by Novation City in partnership with TPM Events and supported by GIZ and Tunisia’s Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, GAICA 2025 aims to be Africa’s largest event fully dedicated to AI.

As global powers such as the United States, China, and the European Union advance rapidly in AI development, Africa is forging its own path, focusing on practical and inclusive applications, including smart agriculture, digital health, sustainable cities, and inclusive fintech.

“Our goal is to position Tunisia as a technological hub bridging Africa and the world,” said Hichem Turki, CEO of Novation City.

Three days to accelerate Africa’s AI ecosystem

GAICA 2025 offers a structured three-day program designed to foster collaboration across the continent:

  • Keynotes and panels featuring 130+ international experts on AI applications in health, agriculture, finance, industry, governance, and education.
  • Three thematic halls: Technology Hall (major players and solution providers), Startup Hall (innovative African startups), and Business Hall (networking and partnerships).
  • B2B matchmaking connecting African startups with global investors.
  • Workshops, hackathons, and masterclasses to train the next generation of African AI engineers and data scientists.

“We aim to catalyze an African AI ecosystem capable of developing homegrown solutions and competing globally. The event has already attracted leading global tech companies, including NVIDIA and Meta,” said Anas Rachdi, Director of Innovation at Novation City.
