Li Keqiang Meets with President Alpha Conde of Guinea

On the afternoon of November 1, 2016, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Great Hall of the People with President Alpha Conde of Guinea, who was on a state visit to China.

Li Keqiang said that Guinea is the first country in Sub-Saharan Africa to establish diplomatic relations with China. The two countries enjoy profound traditional friendship, solid political mutual trust and fruitful cooperation in various fields. At last year's Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, President Xi Jinping and Mr. President exchanged in-depth views in a friendly manner. China is willing to work with Guinea to deepen bilateral relationship and constantly push it to new stages.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China and Guinea have prominent complementary advantages in economy. The Chinese side is willing to, together with the Guinean side, make good use of bilateral cooperation mechanisms, innovate cooperation models, actively carry out production capacity cooperation, strengthen cooperation in infrastructure construction and other areas, and share experience in economic development, poverty alleviation and other aspects. China congratulates Guinea on walking out of the shadows of the Ebola epidemic, and is willing to enhance cooperation in health care, including tackling major infectious diseases with Guinea.

Alpha Conde noted that Guinea thanks China for its long-term support and assistance to Guinea's economic and social development, especially in helping Guinea fight against the Ebola epidemic outbreak. Guinea appreciates that China pursues the African policy featuring sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith. Guinea is willing to learn from China's development experience and strengthen bilateral cooperation in infrastructure construction, agriculture and other aspects, so as to promote Guinea-China relationship to a higher level, and make Guinea-China cooperation a model of Africa-China friendly cooperation.
