Dr Nduom is one of Ghana’s most renowned entrepreneurs with interests spanning financial services, hospitality, media and business consulting.

His businesses include First National Bank, Gold Coast Securities, Coconut Grove Hotels, Ahomka Fm in Cape Coast, the Today Newspaper and Elmina Sharks Football Club. Dr Ndoum is a partner at Deloitte & Touche, West Africa Consulting, and headed the sub-regional operations of the consulting giant prior to 2001.

Nduom went to the US for his secondary education before returning to Ghana for his sixth form education, at St Augustine’s College.

He returned to the US after his sixth form education and self-funded his further studies, including a BA in economics, an MSc in Management from the School of Business as well as a PhD in Service Delivery Systems (USI Programme).

He joined Deloitte & Touche, rising to the rank of partner and eventually returning to Ghana to set up West African operations of the international consulting firm, providing management consultancy services to prestigious firms such as Ashanti Goldfields Company, African Development Bank, Texaco, Elf Oil, African Reinsurance, Zimbabwe National Social Security Authority, Ghana Telecom, Nestlé, Unilever and Malawi Oil Company.

In 2001, Nduom joined the government of Ghana, serving at the Ministries of Energy; Economic Planning and Regional Cooperation; and Public Sector Reform as Minister between 2001 and 2008.

Nduom resigned in 2008 to contest for the Presidency of Ghana on the ticket of the Convention People’s Party. He repeated the same feat in 2012, this time as candidate of the Progressive People’s Party of which he is thought to be the main backer.

He has served on the boards of Deloitte & Touche Tohmatsu, African Region; Fan Milk Ghana Ltd; Edinaman Secondary School; and Ghana Heritage and Conservation Trust. He is a noted philanthropist and supports diverse causes and events, including an annual New Year Groupe Nduom party for the underprivileged in Elmina, where he comes from.

He is married with four children.
