MONUSCO strongly condemns the Mayi Mayi militia attack in Butembo

Maman S. Sidikou, the Special Representative of the Secretary General and Head of MONUSCO, strongly condemns the Mayi-Mayi militia attack on several areas of Butembo, Beni territory, in North Kivu province, on 19 December.The attack resulted in one member of National Police killed, one MONUSCO peacekeeper killed and two peacekeepers injured. SRSG Sidikou expresses his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased as well as to the governments of DRC and South Africa.
